Norma, or The Loves of a Politician

(Norma, eller En politikers kjaerlighed),

Henrik Ibsen - written. 1851.

Satiric opera in three brief acts, freely based on Bellini's Norma.

S. T. O. Severus ("a Liberal") simultaneously woos Adalgisa ("the Government") and Norma ("the Opposition") in a dim forest. His duplicity is discovered, while the parliamentary chorus of druids remain witlessly unmoved.
